Dr. Noli N. Reyes is recognized for important of his significant researches in the field of Mathematics in the Philippines specifically in the areas of Fourier analysis, approximation theory and wavelet analysis having important applications in the numerical processing of large amounts of data such as in signal analysis, image processing and environmental monitoring. His research on wavelet analysis has led to more efficient algorithms in numerical analysis, in particular to solutions of differential equations. The most important aspect of Dr. Reyes’ research concerns the prediction of the growth of quantities obeying certain analytical conditions.

Dr. Marita V.T. Reyes is recognized for important contributions in genetics and biochemistry. She was the Chancellor of UP Manila from Nov. 1, 2002 - Oct. 31, 2005. Beyond genetics and biochemistry, our former chancellor has stretched her wings to educate many of us in health care ethics, collective bargaining and radioisotope techniques, culminating in her dedicated stand on reproductive health and gender responsiveness thru the REPROCEN. She was the progenitor of newborn biochemical screening which she established in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of UPM College of Medicine. Dr. Reyes major turning point in her career is her very active involvement in ethics board committees. She was a major contributor to National Ethical Guidelines for Health Research published by PNHRS (2006). She is now heading the Philippine Research Ethics Board, Philippine National Health Research System and also the chair of DOST-PCHRD National Ethics Committee.
