Dr. Ma. Lourdes S. Bautista is recognized for her important contributions in the field of Professor Emeritus (Department of English and Applied Linguistics) at De La Salle University-Manila. Tish as she is more commonly known obtained her Ph.D. in Linguistics at the Ateneo de Manila University-Philippine Normal College Consortium. She did postdoctoral studies in sociolinguistics at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania and special studies in language teaching at the University of Manchester. She obtained her M.A. English (meritissimus) and A.B. English (summa cum laude) at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.
