Dr. Nathaniel Bantayan is recognized of his significant work in the field of Forestry Engineering, specifically in the development of tools and techniques in managing and visualizing environmental and natural resources data and information through the use geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies. The models he developed include modeling of flood-prone areas, estimation of erosion susceptibility, and fire prone areas. His impressive record of accomplishments and dedication to help improve geographic information systems of the country at such a comparatively young age indicates great potential for even more important work at the forefront of newly emerging technologies in the near future.
